Orange Creamsicle Smoothie

Orange Creamsicle Smoothie 2.jpg

With the spring weather here, I’m craving some new fresh citrus smoothie options. Orange creamsicle was one of my favourite popsicle flavours as a kid so I thought I’d do spin on a smoothie version.

As most of us know, oranges are good source of Vitamin C which is a powerful antioxidant.  Vitamin C helps to fight against free radicals, supports our immune system, helps with the formation of collagen, and helps with tissue repair.

I typically like to add some protein to my smoothies for added fuel and collagen to support healthy skin.

I made my kids taste test this one as they are my toughest critics and they loved it!

Ingredients:

1/2 banana

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 large orange (peeled)

Juice of 1 orange (roughly 1/2 cup)

1/2 cup coconut yogurt (unsweetened)

1 tbsp orange zest

1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder (I prefer Genuine Health Vegan Fermented Vanilla protein)

1 scoop collagen powder

1 cup ice

Optional: 1 tsp ground flax for added fibre

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Servings: 2
