Looking for a new green smoothie to add to your morning line up? This green mojito smoothie is one of my favourites!

I enjoy a good mojito every now and then so it’s nice to have this as a smoothie option without the hangover ; ) This smoothie is super nourishing, with the added collagen to help strengthen and hydrate your skin.

Breaking down a few of the key ingredients

Adding a scoop of collagen to this smoothie is a great way to support healthy skin with the added benefits of supporting bone and joint health as well as muscle mass. Collagen is essentially a type of protein that helps with the elasticity of the skin. Collagen production generally decreases with age, so don’t be afraid to add a scoop into your daily drink of choice.

There are 3 main options in terms of sources of collagen, including: marine, bovine and plant-based. A few of my favourite brands for collagen to consider: Genuine Health for bovine, WithinUs for marine and SunWarrior for plant-based.

The addition of pineapple to this smoothie provides an excellent source of Vitamin C which is powerhouse antioxidant and also supports healthy skin by protecting against oxidative damage to cell structures. Pineapples also contain bromelain which is a special group of enzymes that act as a digestive aid. Better digestion=better skin.

Adding some avocado to your smoothie gives you those beneficial, heart-healthy fats and they’re a great source of fibre and Vitamin C.

I love adding coconut water to my smoothies because it’s incredibly hydrating as contains potassium which is a beneficial electrolytes to help maintain water balance in the body.

This smoothie is a great mix of fats, protein and fibre so it will help to manage your blood sugar levels and keep you satiated.
